Professional Background: Ph.D. in Counselor Education with Specialty in Gerontology, University of Florida (1986) Personal Info Dr. Doty earned her B.A. in Psychology and her Ph.D. in Counselor Education with Specialty in Gerontology at the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL. Dr. Doty was awarded a Post-Doctoral Fellowship from the Gerontological Society of America. She is certified as a Counselor from the American Association of Counseling & Developing, Washington, DC, holds a Certificate of Gerontology from the Center for Gerontological Studies and is licensed as a registered nurse (graduate of Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing, Boston, MA). Dr. Doty received the University of Florida Women of Achievement Award, the Outstanding Service Award as President, College of Medicine Women Faculty Association at the University of Florida and a nominee for the Excellence in Aging with Dignity Award for a Health Care Professional, Florida Commission on Aging with Dignity. She is a former member of the University of Florida Senate Steering Committee; a founding member of the Alliance for Women's Health and Research; a member of the Eastside Advisory Council, Community Health Center at Eastside; a member of the University of Florida Affirmative Action Committee; a former member of the Executive Committee, Center for Women's Studies and Gender Research; and Associate Editor of the SELAM (Senior Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine) International Newsletter.
